Our Aistear theme was The Doctor! We enjoyed acting out various scenarios that may occur within the doctor's surgery. In the construction area we designed and built our own hospitals and surgeries. We explored doctor's equipment and medical tools in the sand and completed written activities such as prescription forms in the writing station.

We visited the Principal's office! Don't worry it was for good behaviour, good listening and doing our best. Sr. Noreen visited our class. We discussed caring for our world and for others.

This month we learned about St. Brigid. We are kind, caring and generous like St. Brigid. Our class motto's are: "We say nice things and we do nice things." We explored feelings, being safe and unsafe in our Stay Safe Programme. When we feel unsafe it is important to tell someone. We identified five people who can help us. Here is a sample of our work:
One of our favourite Gaeilge poems is:
Is Féidir Liom
Is féidir liom rith.
Is féidir liom suí.
Is féidir liom léim.
Is féidir liom luí.
Is féidir liom ithe.
Is féidir liom ól.
Ní féidir liom tiomáint go foill.
January
Míle buíochas to our friends in 6th Class who joined us for Buddy Reading before Christmas. We developed listening, communication and comprehension skills learning from our peers who read with great expression. We look forward to more reading sessions and we are already planning on reading to younger classes when we are in the senior end of the school!!!
Our Aistear theme this month is The Weather Station. Storm Brendan has provided us with new vocabulary as we work in groups developing oral language and writing skills. We carried out science experiments and recorded the weather forecast each day. Our favourite station is the Role Play Area where we work as Meteorologists and TV Weather Reporters using a variety of maps on the interactive whiteboard. In class we watched videos of ourselves giving the weather report on the big screen. We might just be on TV someday!

Here is some photographs of our previous Aistear work The Post Office. We developed literacy, numeracy and writing skills. Postal workers have an important job to do.

Well done to all the pupils in Senior Infants - singing, acting, dancing and playing musical instruments on the big stage!
Thank you to Fr. Ryan who sent our Santa letters to his good friend in the North Pole.
This month we made magic reindeer food to sprinkle on the lawn Christmas Eve! We are bursting with excitement!
November
We are learning new tunes on the tin whistle. Check out our performance at our Christmas Concert next month.
In Cullina we are fortunate to have a spacious and scenic play area.
October
Happy Halloween to all our friends!
Our new Ready Set Go Maths Programme provides us with opportunities to work in pairs. We had fun using concrete materials and partitioning sets.
September
Welcome to Senior Infants!
We are looking forward to the All-Ireland football final. Today was Kerry Jersey Day. We had great fun singing Kerry songs and painting the Sam Maguire Cup.
